Paris – Wellington: The International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) is pleased to announce that New Zealand’s Motor Industry Association (MIA) is now a full member, further expanding OICA’s global reach and diversity.

This decision reflects the shared commitment of both organizations to promote a competitive, innovative, and sustainable automotive industry, both regionally and worldwide.

By joining OICA, MIA will participate in the organization’s technical, economic, and policy-driven work, ensuring that New Zealand’s perspectives, and those of the wider Asia-Pacific region, are fully represented.

Aimee Wiley, Chief Executive Officer of MIA, said:  “We are delighted that MIA is joining OICA as a full member, ensuring New Zealand is contributing to and represented in global automotive discussions on safety, decarbonisation, and emerging technologies. This partnership strengthens our ability to advocate for a modern, sustainable and consumer-focused vehicle fleet, while bringing an Asia–Pacific perspective to the international table.”

OICA Secretary General François Roudier, added: “We welcomes MIA to our international community, and we look forward to advancing shared our priorities to support the future of mobility.”
