Overview

ACAP – Associação Automóvel de Portugal is a private business association representing, at national level, the Portuguese automotive sector as a whole. With more than 100 years of history, ACAP brings together companies from the automotive trade and industry, including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, motorcycles, parts, tyres, agricultural and industrial machinery, caravans, trailers and nautical activities.

ACAP acts as the sector’s institutional voice before public authorities, the media and society. It supports its members through representation, technical advice, statistical information, training, collective bargaining, environmental compliance support and sector-specific services.

ACAP has also contributed to the development of key sector institutions and initiatives, including Autoinforma, Valorpneu, Valorcar and the automotive cluster MOBINOV.

Mission

To represent, defend and promote the interests of the Portuguese automotive sector, contributing to its competitiveness, sustainability and responsible development, while supporting member companies with technical expertise, market intelligence, training, institutional representation and sector-specific services.

Culture and Values

Defend the interests of companies in the automotive sector, particularly before the Government and Public Administration. ACAP is recognised as a privileged institutional interlocutor, with the credibility and expertise required to analyse and address the issues affecting the sector it represents.
Represent, promote and support all activities within its scope before public opinion, national and international organisations, the media and trade union organisations.
Provide members with information, advice and training, ensuring access to a wide range of services and products designed to support and develop their business activities.
Promote quality, ethics and social responsibility in the relationship between companies and in their interaction with the market.
