1994 – Founded in Bucharest, the Romanian Automotive Manufacturers and Importers Association (APIA) set out to promote and support the sustainable development of Romania’s automotive industry.

1996 – APIA became a proud member of OICA, strengthening its international presence and collaboration within the global automotive community.

1997, 2011 & 2024 – APIA had the pleasure of hosting the OICA General Assembly in 1997, 2011 and in 2024 (Bucharest).

1994 until 2018 – APIA organized the annual editions of the Bucharest International Motor Show (SIAB), the country’s leading automotive exhibition for over two decades.

2022 – Reflecting the transformation of the industry, APIA evolved into Romania’s Mobility Organization, engaging actively with authorities, members, and key stakeholders to advance sustainable and affordable transport solutions.

Since 2023 – APIA has been organizing the Sustainable and Affordable Mobility Forum, an annual event that brings together top leaders and visioners from the global automotive markets, local and European authorities, the business sector, and academia representatives to shape mobility as a true driver of progress and responsibility.
