Auto-Schweiz

The Swiss automotive industry is the third-largest import sector in our country and employs a total of over 120,000 people. auto-schweiz is the Association of Swiss Automotive Importers, and we represent 41 members who import 63 makes of passenger cars, light-duty, and heavy-duty commercial vehicles, accounting for approximately 95 percent of new vehicle registrations. These vehicles are sold to customers in Switzerland and the Principality of Liechtenstein through approximately 2,400 sales partners and are expertly maintained by over 3,000 authorized service centers. The annual import value of our members’ products exceeds 11 billion Swiss francs. It is our mission and goal to consistently represent the interests of the automotive trade, the entire automotive industry, and its user groups in order to ensure the best possible framework conditions. In doing so, we create added value for Switzerland as a business location and industrial hub. We are committed to ensuring widespread access to affordable mobility for citizens and businesses alike.

In addition to providing support services for technology, homologation, and statistical activities, we offer our members the added value of advocating for their interests regarding the regulatory framework at the federal level. In doing so, we create the framework to present the use of automobiles and the associated value creation in a positive light within an internationally interconnected context. In addition to industry events and meetings, we offer a solution for the circular economy through the Auto-Recycling Switzerland Foundation, and through the sestorec cooperative—which we initiated—we ensure the recyclability of high-voltage batteries so that no advance recycling fee is incurred.
