CACID

Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK) was founded in 1852 to represent the interest of companies in front of Executive authorities. CACID – Croatia Association of Car importers and Distributors is one of the associations operating within Croatian Chamber of Economy (HGK).

The Association is a member of the International Organization of Motor Vehicle Manufacturers (OICA) and participates in the work of the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA).

Our association, together with the City of Zagreb, successfully organized the Zagreb Auto Show in 2016 and 2018, but unfortunately further events (2020) due to Covid19 have been postponed. It is important to note here that the first auto show in Zagreb was held back in 1924.

CACID mission & vision: Promote development of the automotive sector with sustainable mobility and transport solutions. Reducing the age of the vehicle fleet and reducing the CO2 footprint.

• The total number of passenger cars in use in Croatia is around 2 million
• Annual sales of new vehicles in 2024 were 64 thousand new passenger cars. In 2025, a sales growth trend of 8% was recorded.
• Total annual sales of electric BEV vehicles are around 3% of total new vehicle sales
