The Federal Chamber of Automotive industries (FCAI) is the peak representative organisation for companies who distribute new passenger vehicles, light commercial vehicles, motorcycles and off-highway vehicles in Australia. The organisation is a not-for-profit entity funded by members and has successfully represented members’ interests for over 90 years.
The FCAI’s primary activities include representing and advancing the interests of members, liaison and negotiation with Australia’s federal, state and territory governments, promoting effective policy and regulatory outcomes that benefit members, and raising community awareness of the industry’s positive contribution to the Australian economy.
Local vehicle production ceased in 2017 and all vehicles sold in Australia are now imported.
The Australian market has over 75 brands offering consumers around 400 models.
